Wooden Thatched Cottage

This project is a fully modeled rustic wooden thatched cottage designed with a traditional handcrafted aesthetic. The structure combines aged wooden planks, heavy timber supports, rough wooden framing, simple openings, and a large layered thatched roof to create an authentic rural and historical appearance.

The cottage features extensive surface detailing throughout the exterior. The wooden walls are constructed from individually arranged planks with visible variation in shape and placement, giving the structure an old, handmade character. Supporting beams, braces, roof poles, window frames, door frames, and protruding wooden pegs add additional structural detail and visual realism.

The thatched roof is the main visual feature of the model. Multiple overlapping layers of dark, weathered thatch create a thick, irregular roof profile, while numerous wooden stakes and supports protrude from the roof surface. The uneven edges and aged materials give the cottage a naturally worn appearance rather than a perfectly manufactured look.

The model includes multiple windows and openings along the front and side elevations, along with a central entrance and wooden framing details. The overall design can work well as a medieval village house, fantasy environment asset, historical settlement building, survival-game structure, rural cottage, or atmospheric background prop.

The model was created with versatility in mind and can be incorporated into different 3D workflows. It is suitable for game environments, architectural visualization, animation, cinematic scenes, virtual worlds, level design, and portfolio presentations.
